Naig to Visit Carroll and Washington Counties March 16 and 17

DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig today announced that he will be making stops in Carroll and Washington Counties on March 16 and 17.

On Friday, Naig will tour the POET Biorefining plant at Coon Rapids and on Saturday he will speak at the Washington County Pork Producers Annual Banquet.

Friday, March 16, 2018
Carroll County – 1:30 p.m., tour POET Biorefining, 1015 Grant Ave., Coon Rapids

Saturday, March 17, 2018
Washington County – 6:00 p.m., speak at the Washington County Pork Producers Annual Banquet, Riverside Casino, 3184 IA-22, Riverside

Naig was appointed by Governor Kim Reynolds to succeed Bill Northey as Iowa Secretary of Agriculture on Monday, March 5, 2018. Prior to that, he had served as Iowa Deputy Secretary of Agriculture for Northey since September 2013.

As Secretary, he is committed to leading efforts to protect consumers, expanding economic opportunities for Iowans and advocating in Iowa and around the globe on behalf of the hard-working men and women who keep us fed and fueled.

Mike Naig grew up on a family farm in the northwest corner of the state near Cylinder, Iowa and he continues to be involved in the operation today.
